December 12

On Dec. 12, 1975, 44 men and women gathered in Washington, D.C. to form the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).

Over the last four decades, NABJ has grown into the largest organization representing journalists of color in the nation. We continue to be committed to fostering an exemplary group of professionals that honors excellence and the outstanding achievements of black journalists in the media industry.

We are living at a time when the free press is more important than ever. NABJ members contribute to the very best of news gathering in newsrooms across the nation.

Today we issue a call to action. Please continue to support our dutiful association.

Here are several ways you can help NABJ remain relevant and viable:
Your support helps NABJ expand access to professional and leadership training opportunities for students and journalists of color.

With your support, we can continue our vital work to provide rich opportunities that equip the next generation of journalists with skills they need to be change agents for all communities and our world.

We are honored to celebrate the sacrifices and commitment from our founders on this NABJ Founders' Day.

Thank you for your support.
